History & Background
Mama Askofu Magesa Ministry (MAMM) was established in 2007 as a dream of Evangelist Isack Alphonce Gomugo, who was then a student of Nassa Theological College (NTC) in North western Tanzania, East Africa. The dream was cemented out of the sympathetic spirit to the small group of widows in the church of Christ, though later, the involvement of other community came in as the needs of widows are relevantly alike. As special ministry, MAMM adopted the holistic approach for supporting widows at large, and this has driven the ministry to serve this unprivileged group. Most of the widows are left with children who need to be looked after, so MAMM considers and cares for them too. At the beginning, MAMM primarily focused on rural widows, however the ministry came to realize the urban challenge and hence the inclusion of urban widows became inevitable.
